Tuning your guitar with your iPhone!

Well it looks like the possibilities are endless with an iPhone. You can now use it to tune your guitar. The application looks pretty nice. The audio files are QuickTime which is definitely the best choice for compatibility with the iPhone. I'm not an expert in guitar tuning so I'm probably not the best judge. It is at http://iphoneguitartuner.com/

I tried it, it works but its very tedious to use since you have to turn your speakers up all the way and even then its hard to hear while turning and you have to go back and replay it over and over again to get an accurate tuning. It would have been better if the audio files were longer and a bit louder.

Hi there. I'm Marcos, the iPhone Guitar Tuner creator. Thanks for your feedback. The audio files were kept short so they would not take too much time to download. You know, the Edge network is not the fastest one around... Also, the iPhone speakers are really tiny so anything louder would distort considerably. Because of that, the use of the iPhone headphone in one ear is highly recommended. Thanks again.

It took a little coordination, but I held my iPhone to my ear with my right hand and played the audio files with that hand, and then plucked the strings with my left hand and tuned with that hand as well.

It worked pretty well, and I'm not that coordinated, trust me.

Thanks, Marcos
